EMOTIONAL FIRST AID FOR PRACTITIONERS

TRAINING WORKSHOP

This workshop has been developed and led by a trained and qualified mental health nurse who extends support into alternative and complementary therapies and training schools. It combines foundational UK-based mental health practices with a broader, more inclusive perspective that honours diverse and alternative experiences of emotional and mental distress - taking into account health and socioeconomic inequity. It acknowledges that emotional and mental health challenges can arise from a range of cultural, spiritual, and individual contexts, beyond traditional diagnostic frameworks. Practitioners will learn to navigate a way forward by ethically supporting individuals in accessing the help they need, whether through mainstream services or alternative pathways. The workshop introduces a practical 3-step process to empower practitioners to support individuals who may be vulnerable to illness or abuse while navigating complex systems with compassion, clarity, and ethical integrity.

Interactive Assessment and Certification
This workshop utilizes an interactive learning model to ensure practitioners can confidently apply the knowledge and skills gained. Through engaging case studies, participants will assess scenarios, identify appropriate interventions, and create tailored recommendations for individuals facing emotional or mental health challenges. This hands-on approach allows practitioners to refine their ability to navigate complex situations ethically and effectively. Completion of these assessments is required to demonstrate understanding, and certificates will only be issued upon successful submission of the case study evaluations, ensuring a high standard of competency and readiness to support those in need.
