Sliding Scale Payments

No need to adjust the volume of your income to access support or education with me.

Why I Offer a Sliding Scale Payment System

In my work supporting emotional and mental wellbeing, I create spaces that are inclusive, accessible, and empowering for all individuals who show up. This is why I use a sliding scale payment system for my services. It reflects my commitment to equity and recognizes the diverse financial realities that people experience, due to their circumstances, experiences and systemic oppression. Here's how it works and why it matters for me and you.

What is a Sliding Scale Payment System?

A sliding scale is a flexible payment model that allows individuals to pay for services based on their financial capacity. Rather than a one-size-fits-all fee, it offers three tiers:

  • Tier 1: For those facing systemic, structural and/or significant financial challenges.
  • Tier 2: For those who occasionally or often have some spare money.
  • Tier 3: For those with financial abundance and consistent disposable income.

By doing this, I aim to make support and resources available to as many people as possible, while also ensuring sustainability for my practice.

Why Sliding Scale Payments Matter

1. Addressing Systemic Inequities

Economic disparities often align with systemic oppression. Marginalized communities—such as BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, and People of Colour), neurodivergent and body-diverse individuals—are disproportionately affected by barriers to financial security. This tiered system acknowledges these realities and reduces financial barriers for those who need it most.

2. Recognizing Lived Experiences

Financial hardship is multifaceted and deeply personal. For Tier 1, I consider factors like reliance on benefits (e.g., Universal Credit, PIP, ESA), income below the UK tax threshold, and limited disposable income after essential bills. This ensures that those with fewer resources can still access vital emotional and mental wellbeing support.

3. Unifying Community Care

Community wellbeing is a collective effort. Tier 2 allows those who have a modest amount of spare income to contribute fairly, while Tier 3 invites individuals with financial abundance to support equitable access for others. This system encourages solidarity and collective investment in each other’s growth and healing.

How the Tiers Work

  • Tier 1:

    • For those with significant financial challenges i.e. low income, carer, parent not working with child not attending nursery/school, recently left an abusive relationships (these suggestions are not an exhaustive list).
    • Includes all BIPOC & Global Majority folk, TIN (trans, intersex, non-binary), neurodivergent, and body-diverse individuals.
    • Open to those whose only income is benefits due to their family or health circumstances.
  • Tier 2:

    • For individuals who occasionally or often have some disposable income.
    • You might fit this tier if you can comfortably afford small luxuries but still budget for larger expenses.
  • Tier 3:

    • For those with financial abundance.
    • You always have spare money to attend events or invest in personal development.

Why This Approach Reflects My Values

I believe in the power of community, equity, and justice. A sliding scale payment system isn’t just about affordability; it’s about recognizing and challenging the systemic and structural barriers that limit some people to access to support and education. By choosing to work with me, you’re not just investing in your own wellbeing—you’re contributing to a fairer, more inclusive system that uplifts everyone.

Choosing Your Tier

I invite you to reflect honestly on your financial situation when selecting your payment tier. There’s no judgment—just trust in your ability to assess what feels right and fair for you, others and me. You do not need to ask or tell me anything, I trust you entirely to take up a space as you need to.

Thank you for supporting a model that values accessibility, equity, and shared community support systems. If you have any questions about the sliding scale, please feel free to reach out.

Together, we can create a space where everyone has the opportunity to thrive.
